Most every Sunday, Jon and I head to our local Goodwill. With a new house, there’s always something on the list that we’d like to pick up at a reasonable price (This week’s item: an edger). I always try to find more artwork for the house or, at the very least, frames that I can re-purpose to fit with the grandeur of our historic home. But of course, I can’t help but swing by the racks of clothing to find a new piece for my wardrobe. Like any thrifting experience, sometimes you hit the jackpot and other times you leave empty handed. But I guess it was my lucky day – look at those bright pants!
I mean, how could I resist? A pair of J. Crew crops for $5 in a lovely magenta shade?! So. Much. Yes.

Now that I’m rebuilding my wardrobe, I’m taking the opportunity to think through my purchases more and make sure that each item is carefully curated and will serve a dual-purpose: can I wear it to work and on the weekends? If the answer is yes, then it’s a no-brainer. What I love about this outfit is that all of the pieces can easily be mix-and-matched with other items in my closet for a casual look. Mix the lace top with a pair of jean cut-offs, Birkenstocks, and gold jewelry; match the bright pants with slip-ons and a tank top. Put them together and create a fun summer look, perfect for the office!
