Our Wedding: Invitations

After designing our Save the Dates last year, we had a foundation for the colors, fonts, and style of our wedding invitation suite. But as it turned, we were going to spend a lot of time designing our invites!
All of our wedding stationary suite, including our save the dates, we custom designed through Minted. A friend made our logo for us and from there I worked with a Minted designer to custom create our stationary suite. I sketched out the layout of the invites, RSVP, and thank you cards, including copy and font selection. After a few reviews, we ordered these beautiful paper products from Minted.

Designing our wedding invitations turned out to be a rather time consuming task. We realized that we really needed to focus on the language of our invites to not only establish the appropriate tone of our wedding, but to make sure that the verbiage represented us as a couple. We had no idea how much time would be spent drafting our suite, but were very pleased with the final result!
Here’s the language we opted for on the front of our wedding invites:

And, here’s the language on the back:

Dress as nicely as you wish,
dine as heartily as you like,
dance as wildly as you please.

In addition to the invites, we included an RSVP card with a stamped envelope. Unfortunately, the RSVP card didn’t make it into a photo. We spent a lot of time working on this because we wanted to get a strong RSVP return, and our friends and family loved the verbiage. We got so many notes back on the cards and comments about how funny they were! Here’s the text from our RSVP card:
